What's the difference?
We are passionate about ensuring that every prospective piglet parent is fully informed and prepared. Explore this section to learn more about the beautiful breeds we offer and what makes them so special.
At Royal Mini Pigs, we specialize in breeding two distinct types of pigs: Juliana and Mini Pigs. Each breed has its own unique characteristics and traits, making them wonderful additions to the right families.
It’s important to note that we do not breed Potbellied Pigs. Juliana and Mini Pigs are entirely different breeds, carefully chosen for their exceptional qualities.
Juliana Pigs
The Juliana Pig, often referred to as the “Painted Pig,” is celebrated for its striking spotted coat and athletic, proportional build. Originating in Europe through meticulous selective breeding, these pigs are small and well-formed, featuring tiny legs and feet without a pronounced pot belly or sway back. Their sleek appearance is a testament to a healthy and active lifestyle—Juliana Pigs should never look pudgy or heavily wrinkled.
This rare and captivating breed is incredibly social, intelligent, and highly trainable, making them a perfect choice for those seeking a loving and lively companion. While all Julianas are spotted, not all spotted pigs are true Julianas—proper registration is essential to verify authenticity. At Royal Mini Pigs, every Juliana Pig is JPAR-registered, ensuring their pedigree and exceptional quality.
Mini Pigs
The Mini Pig is a distinct breed, unrelated to potbelly pigs, and is adored for its friendly demeanor, excellent temperament, and remarkable intelligence. Known for their adaptability and trainability, Mini Pigs thrive in indoor homes and make wonderful companions. They have a compact, sturdy build that contributes to their charm.
Mini Pigs come in a variety of coat colors and patterns, including solid shades like black, pink, grey, and red, as well as unique markings such as tuxedo and pinto. This diversity enhances their individuality and appeal. Their weight varies depending on their physical condition, with an emphasis on maintaining a healthy, athletic build. Minis should be able to move and run freely while keeping their vision unobstructed, ensuring their overall well-being.
